About the Fusion Festival

The Fusion Festival is an interactive celebration, supporting community mental wellness and wellbeing.

Fusion aims to promote positive mental wellness by bringing the community together with local artists, businesses, services, sporting clubs, leisure activities and government and non government service providers available on the Sunshine Coast and in other state and federal organisations. In doing so we create a highly accessible venue for community interaction and inclusion, which is vital to the mental wellness and prosperity of our community.

Festival Aims and Objectives

To create an awareness and promote understanding of mental wellness issues. The festival provides an opportunity for members of the community to access information on mental wellness and other services, support groups, sporting associations, leisure activities and businesses that build connections supporting and maintaining community wellbeing.

Promoting Positive Mental Health

In the age of technology, globalisation, and transient populations the focus has moved away from localisation and the benefits associated with neighbourhood and community interaction. This can and does contribute to mental health issues as people often find themselves isolated and disconnected from others, and from the community as a whole.

How does Fusion Festival address these issues?

The Sunshine Coast Mental Health Committee's aim is to:

  • Develop, maintain, and sustain a yearly event
  • Hold this event in Mental Health Week

The Fusion Festival's main focus is on:

  • Promoting positive mental health through community inclusion
  • Building awareness through interaction and information
  • Establishing connections to a diversity of community organisations
  • Supporting community activities that research indicates assists and maintains mental health
